So we discovered that our Fuel leaders have it EASY to make and keep heath habits.
Nah. That’s a lie.
Just like the rest of us, our Fuel Fitness General Managers have to fight to find a way to fit in their fit. Four of our leaders shared their favorite exercises, some tips and even a workout in the last blog post. Today, we get more insiders’ tips and real thoughts about exercise.
Anyone with back pain, postural issues or just needing to improve your posture? This is Matt, the General Manager in Kalispell. He says, “My favorite exercise is single arm row. I like to do single arm because I feel I can get a better range of motion and muscle contraction. Strengthening my back has been a huge part of my life from a young age for correcting posture issues created from scoliosis and also rehabbing from 4-wheeler accidents over the years!”
Thanks for the tip, Matt. A lot of us could use some posture strengthening!
Chad, General Manager from Coeur d’ Alene, ID says, “Deadlifts are my all time favorite movement to start back day off with. It requires alot of mind muscle connection, plus it strengthens just about every muscle in the body.
A typical back day for me includes:
Deadlifts 5×5 at no more than 90% 1rm
Pullups or pulldowns 5×10
Db rows 4×12
Bentover rows 4×10
Db pullovers 3×15
Chad competes in Strong Man competitions. We like having him around for doing the ‘heavy lifting’…literally.
David, the General Manager in Bozeman says, “The standard pulldown motion is a compound movement that requires dynamic work by muscles surrounding the three joints which move during the exercise… and that is only one reason I love the exercise!” Well, we think you should tell us all of the reasons, David, but we’ll be satisfied with that one. It’s a good one!
Josh, (4th one from the right), is the leader of leaders for Fuel Fitness. He puts in miles upon miles traveling across Montana and Idaho visiting our clubs. Here’s what Josh says, “Although I LOVE lifting weights, life gets crazy and I find the workouts I do get in are infrequent and not well rounded. I have a long list of favorite lifts BUT…I can also pile up excuses why I miss workouts and do not put the time into it like I had in the past. To be very honest, FuelPower holds a critical part of my workouts. This workout always pushes me to my limit. I get to workout with the team and always have a great time! 1 hour and I get everything done including the lifts I would avoid by preference like lunges. I always have emails and phone calls constantly coming in, but when I step into class, I am locked into the workout. This is so important to me. With the recent gym closures, I have enjoyed getting back into weight training and have missed it, but can’t wait to get that push I get in class. Excited that we are able to start phasing this class back into out normal offering!”
Josh competed and won titles and trophies in many bodybuilding competitions. He’s also been a certified Group Fitness instructor in his past life. Cat’s out of the bag! We are just as excited as Josh to get our classes AND FuelPower to all of our Fuel Fitness clubs soon!
It’s been fun hearing from our General Managers, what workouts they love and even love to hate as well as get a few tips!
